1936: 1947: 1967: 1969: 1980s: 2009: 2011: The Magli siblings Bruno, Marino, and Maria, having learned the art of shoemaking from their great-grandfather, starts a craft shop of women’s shoes in a small basement in Bologna.; After a temporary shutdown during the World War, the shop resumes business as the war ends, and builds a new factory the same year. It starts producing men’s shoes at the same time, and grows instantly to become a company of some 250 employees.; Opens its first direct-ownership store on Via Ugo Bassi in Bologna. Conceives the Decollete, the origin of pumps, in the early ‘60s and enters the global market, including the United States and Japan.; Responds global popularity and heightened demand by building a new factory on a grand scale that still operates today.; Recognized for their perfect form, Bruno Magli shoes are exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.; Ernesto Esposito, a prominent figure in Italian shoes, is appointed Designer and Creative Director of men’s and women’s shoes.; Maison celebrates the 75th year of the founding of the brand<br />
